I was skeptical as to whether or not this would make a difference. As it turns out, my worries were completely unfounded. This was an amazing upgrade for my 2006 Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Fretless.
The installation was very easy, the hardest part was putting the wires into the harness itself, but that was likely more related to my age and terrible eyesight than anything else.
The full-size CTS pots were a superb upgrade and the harness has reduced the noise my Jazzer produces.
I did have to get a USA-sized control plate and knobs, but I knew that going into this.
I will be buying another one for my Squier CV Precision, I like it that much!
If you are "on the fence" here, go ahead and buy the harness. If you have a Squier Jazz bass, save yourself some trouble and buy the entire package.
This was my 2nd order with OW in as many months so it's needless to say that I was impressed by the first go round. First was to upgrade my Tele, and this my Strat. Even for someone as grumpy and impatient as me, I could still handle the install. Good stuff OW!
Very solid piece of kit, and quite easy to install. I like the idea of being able to try out other pickups without soldering. I brought the newly upgraded guitar to rehearsal last night and the rest of the band agreed that the sound is noticeably bigger, more detailed and vivid.
Ordered a set for my revstar, they recommended long shafts, may want to try the pick guard mount, but the long shafts were just a hair too wide for the holes on a revstar element. That being said, I ended up taking it to my luthier to have it installed and he was able to get it working. The pots sound much better than the stock pots and the GFS equipment I was using previously. So they are worth it, just keep in mind if you are using something that isn't based on a Gibson or Fender style instrument, it may require a bit of extra work.
