Custom HH for Strat® '6 -Way' Gen2

Purchased your HH Strat setup. Installed it on my customized "Fender Prodigy" which now makes it a "Fender Stratigy"I wanted only the best for my project and I heard you guys were it. Buttery smooth controls, simple installation, and a clean control cavity. Had some issues early on and you guys were 100% helpful. Thank you ObsidianWire!!

Very happy with the outcome. It was a perfect fit in Fender American Pro II Strat. I used Suhr Thornbuckers with the Obsidian, install was easy, everything worked, and the guitar sounds great.

I have a 1998 Fender Big Apple Strat that has always had a disappointing sound. Back when it was my go to I spent loads of cash on pedals, amps, pickups etc... trying to get the thin sound out of it. Nothing helped so I put it away and moved on. Recently I wanted to at least put the original pickups back in it, but wanted to upgrade the electronics. Being as I wanted to be able to swap pickups, if the old ones sounded the same, I bought this baby and all I can say is WOW! She never sounded this good before, I haven't put it down in a week. I loved it so much I bought one for a tele build I'm doing. Thanks Obsidian!!!

I bought this wiring harness to go with Railhammer humbuckers, partly because the pickups also needed an upgrade to 500k pots. The simplicity of the coil splitting for an HH setup is terrific, the sound is phenomenal, and the installation was easy enough for a complete newbie to carry off.

Hello - I am the person who left a one star review on 1/20/23. I never did get around to completing this project with a competing product. Then recently I saw that OW had re-engineered and improved the product as I (and no doubt others) had suggested with the push pull pot in the bridge tone position. I went ahead and purchased and installed with no fuss no muss at all. Sounds great and works as advertised. Thanks to O Wire for listening to feedback and improving their already great product line.

This makes building a custom guitar a breeze and build quality is excellent

Worked great easy to install

I found the install would be easier if the connection block faced the other way and not crammed up against the pots, making it hard to know when the cable was in deep enough. Other than that it was a breeze, and the unit works perfectly

Great wiring harness

The HH kit is my second Obsidian Wire product. For someone like me who doesn't want to delve into soldering, this is a worthwhile product. Installation is straight forward. I'm still fairly new with respect to pickup swapping, so after encountering an issue, customer service was able to get me sorted out very quickly. The coil split functionality is great at delivering more sounds. Highly recommended.

This was my first time using solderless electronics, and it was well worth it. I'd highly recommend Obsidian Wire kits.

Unlike the folks above I was unable to successfully install this item. Because the oversize push-pull pot is engineered in the first (volume) position it is almost impossible to get any leverage when trying to insert the tiny wires into the tiny slots. Tried for two hours then gave up. Now I will order a harness from someone else and get out the soldering iron. Pretty sad when your install is more miserable than soldering. For the record, I have OW strat blender kits installed on three other SSS strats and never had a problem, they are much better engineered. If you note other strat items featuring a push-pull pot it is in the position of the second tone pot, enabling easy access to the bank of solderless connectors. Not so this one. I would avoid it unless you see it's been re-engineered to have the oversized push pull pot in that second tone position and not the volume position.

I wpuld have rocked 5 stars (sounds frigging great). The issuse was fitment. I had to do some slight modification to both the pickguard and the body (Warmouth Strat body) to get it to fit.

Hard on the heels of my fretless JB build (Fender noiseless vintage/ObsidianWire), I got to work on a strat.

Some time ago I came by a S.Duncan Holdsworth Metal Fatigue (Fender-spaced, bridge position), and took my longstanding NZ friend/mentor/lead guitarist Graham Silcock's advice: SD '59 for neck position.

Both humbuckers are four-conductor models, so the choice was simple: ObsidianWire's custom HH 6-position harness.

With single pole coil-split pull-switch engaged, my instrument is certainly as Stratified as one could wish - without RF interference, microphonics or mains hum.

With either/both pickups in humbucking mode, ObsidianWire's pots/caps are a perfect complement to my reconfigured strat.

I have the Strat blender on o e guitar and it is fantastic. Always wanted to build a "Big Apple" strat and thought they need to build a HH. The install took a little more homework than single coils but it was worth it. The thing is dead quiet and the sounds are great. These guys no how to build great components for guys like me who are not a wiz at complex soldering. . Good job fellas

And so I bought the Strat wiring harness for a HH pickup setup and it is outstanding. For years I wired all kinds of pickups myself and took the plunge and bought a harness from Obsidian and I couldn't be happier. The quality of the components is top notch and this guitar is now deathly quiet. They are easy to install once you figure out what is hot and what is ground. If you are thinking a bought buying one, do it. Think less, play more. Thanks.

Every time I use Obsidian Wire I come out extremely satisfied. Very good quality. Very good parts. Very good products. They just need to branch out on guitar styles so more guitars can enjoy the high quality components too.
