This is one of those “must have” items!

I recently purchased a control plate for my Squier Jazz Bass, and I love it! It’s noticeably heavier than the stock control plate, and little bit thicker, but it’s a perfect fit. I also purchased the Wire harness and the vintage knobs for the Jazz Bass. I was not disappointed. The fit and finish of all part is fabulous! All the parts fit together perfectly, and installation is super simple. Everything required for installation is in the box. Even includes all the washers and nuts to mount the wire harness to the control plate.
After installation I had a cleaner sound, the tone and volume controls were smooth and quiet. And if I want to swap out pickups, I simply unplug the old ones and plug in the new ones. It really is that simple…and no soldering. If you’re going to ever swap out pickups, this is a must have! Well worth the money and I would definitely buy again to install on my next guitar

Excellent Product & Customer Service

In fairness, I would like to provide an update from my original 2 star rating. I reached out to ObsidianWire about my Fender Jazz Bass Control Plate issues, and was immediately provided with a new replacement control plate by the kind Caitlin, free of charge.

It arrived, and was perfect and excellently packaged. I used it to upgrade my FGN Jazz bass and fit the ObsidianWire Jazz Bass harness. It fitted perfectly and really adds a gleaming shine to the bass.

Good product - better packaging needed

The quality of the control plate is good. However, it came packed in a tight and hard piece of cardboard. It was not wrapped in softer material and had markings all along the edges. This has lost that gleaming visual appeal.
